Horrific crash in Cobb County kills two

MARIETTA, GA (CBS46) -

Cobb County police are investigating what led to a deadly car crash that killed two people. It happened on Paper Mill Road near Sibley Forest Drive in Marietta.

According to investigators, the driver of a white 2012 Ford F-150 was speeding down Paper Mill Road around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning. As he tried to turn around a curve, he ran off the road and sideswiped a tree, causing his car to spin.

The car spun into another tree, hitting it on the driver's side. It went through that tree and landed upside down on a third.

The driver has been identified as 40-year-old Ryan Lamar Lombardo of Marietta, GA. Lombardo was pronounced deceased by the Cobb County Medical Examiner at the scene due to his injuries.

The passenger has been identified as 35-year-old Jessica Lombardo of Marietta. Lombardo was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Cobb County Medical Examiner due to her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about this deadly crash is asked to call the Cobb County Police Department 770-499-3987.
